Greg Trudel
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Trudel has served as our President and CEO since December 2013. Prior to joining Encision, Greg served as Global Director of Marketing for a division within the Surgical Solutions Group at Covidien. His time at Covidien also includes extensive experience in both the Advanced Energy and Surgical Stapling Divisions. Prior to joining Covidien, Greg held leadership roles with ConMed Electrosurgery, SilverGlide Surgical Technologies, and Stryker. He holds a B.S. from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT and an M.B.A from the University of Bridgeport, Bridgeport, CT.
Brian Jackman
Vice President of Marketing
Mr. Jackman has served as our Vice President of Marketing since February 2019. He is responsible for Encision’s National Accounts. He has been with the company since 2006, serving as the Director of Marketing from April 2014 – January 2019, and the Senior Engineering Program Manager from 2009 – 2012. Brian has a background in marketing, sales, surgical device design, and program management. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder and holds several patents for laparoscopic surgical instruments.
David W. Newton
Co-founder and VP of Technology
Mr. Newton is one of our co-founders and has worked in a number of capacities since our inception in 1991. From 1989 until 1991, Dave was President of Newton Associates, Inc., a contract engineering firm. From 1985 to 1989, Dave was President of Tienet, Inc., a developer of integrated computer systems. Dave has an additional 16 years of experience as an electrical engineer designing electrosurgical generators and related accessories. Dave holds 21 patents in the field of medical electronic equipment and holds a Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Colorado.
Jason Johnson
Vice President of Sales
Mr. Johnson has served as our Vice President of Sales since October 2022. He has been with Encision since 2016. He served as our Regional Sales Director from 2016 until 2021 and National Sales Director from 2021 until 2022. Mr. Johnson has over 20 years of experience in the medical arena. Mr. Johnson has a background in marketing, sales, and communications. He holds a B.S. in Communications/Marketing from the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
Mala Ray
Controller, Treasurer and Corporate Secretary
Ms. Ray is our Controller, Treasurer and Corporate Secretary who joined us in 2012. Mala has extensive experience in GAAP accounting, ERP systems and process improvement. Additionally, she has a background in supply chain, cost accounting, internal controls, budgeting and forecasting. Mala has worked in medical devices for 20 years, spending nearly a decade at Medtronic Navigation along with having worked at Covidien, Gambro Renal and Fischer Imaging. Mala has a BS in Business Administration from Regis University.
Pete Geary
Director of Strategic Integration
Mr. Geary has served as our Chief Operating Officer since February 2019. He has been with Encision, serving as VP of Operations, since April 2017. Prior to joining Encision, Pete held leadership and management positions in Operations, Engineering and R&D with Covidien/Medtronic, Medical Products Solutions, Sound Surgical and Valleylab. He has 25 years of Medical Device industry experience including 11 years working with energy based devices. Pete holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bradley University and an MBA from Rockhurst University.
Robert H. Fries
Contract Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Fries has been our Contract Chief Financial Officer since June 2003. Mr. Fries is a founder and the President of FinanceVision Services, Inc., a finance and tax consulting firm, and has served as a finance executive with a broad range of large public multinational companies. Since March 2000, he has provided us with financial and tax consulting services. Mr. Fries is a certified public accountant. Mr. Fries’ credentials include a Masters in Business Administration from St. John’s University, New York, and a Juris Doctor Degree from Jones School of Law.
